GTT Marine wins fleet-wide digital mandate for PETRONAS LNG carriers

A single integrated performance platform will cover data acquisition, voyage optimisation and cargo monitoring across the chartered LNG fleet

GTT Marine will deploy a single integrated vessel performance platform across the entire PETRONAS-chartered LNG carrier fleet, with the mandate structured to remain open to future fleet additions as well. The package brings together data acquisition, performance analytics, voyage optimisation and cargo management monitoring in one system, aimed at improving efficiency, controlling costs and reducing emissions across the fleet.

Operational data drawn from noon reports and high-frequency onboard sensors will be collected, structured and analysed before being processed through the company's Vesper Insights platform. The resulting system is designed to give both crews and shore-based fleet managers an evidence-based view of vessel performance, helping to prioritise technical, operational and maintenance actions before problems escalate.

Voyage optimisation under the new mandate will combine weather data, vessel performance models and digital twins, backed by round-the-clock support from GTT Marine's Fleet Centre. The system is intended to support route planning, fuel consumption management and emissions reduction on a continuous basis, while a separate cargo management monitoring function will add visibility over cargo operations and related vessel activities throughout each voyage.

GTT Marine chief executive Casper Jensen said the agreement validated the strategy behind bringing together the capabilities of Danelec, Ascenz Marorka and Vessel Performance Solutions under a single brand, arguing that the combined business now delivers data acquisition, performance analytics and voyage optimisation as one integrated suite rather than as separate, disconnected tools. He described the shift as moving fleet operators from fragmented digital systems toward genuinely integrated, data-driven decision-making.

The PETRONAS mandate represents one of the largest fleet-wide digital contracts GTT Marine has secured since bringing its constituent businesses together, and is likely to be closely watched by other LNG carrier owners weighing whether to consolidate their own fleet performance tools under a single integrated platform rather than managing multiple standalone systems across data acquisition, analytics and voyage planning.
