Is she loaded? A ship floats as deep as the weight she carries, and she broadcasts her own draught. Vessel Hunter reads that figure and tells you whether a vessel is laden or in ballast, on the vessel page and as a filter across your whole fleet. It works for tankers, bulkers and other ships whose cargo is weight limited. Load condition is in Beta.
How it works
Read from her own broadcast
Every vessel reports her draught over AIS. We read that figure and set it against how deep a vessel of her size sits when she is fully loaded, so a reading turns into laden or in ballast.
Only where it means something
Tankers, bulkers and other ships whose cargo is weight limited get an answer. Container ships do not sit much deeper when they are full, so for them we do not guess rather than show you a wrong one.
Filter the fleet on it
Load condition is a filter in Fleet, so a list of tankers off a port splits into the laden ones and the ones in ballast. Like any Fleet filter, you can save it as a hunt.
