Eni picks SLB OneSubsea for giant deepwater Indonesia umbilical order
A 94.6 km umbilical system for the Kutei North Hub ranks among the sector's largest such awards

SLB OneSubsea has landed a contract from Eni to deliver a steel tube umbilical system for the Kutei North Hub field development off East Kalimantan, Indonesia, in one of the largest such awards seen to date.
The order was placed by Eni North Ganal, a subsidiary of Searah, the joint venture between Eni and Petronas. It covers the engineering, procurement and manufacturing of 94.6 km of umbilicals for water depths of up to 2,200 m, with a total system weight of around 6,700 tonnes and a design pressure of 10,000 psi.
The scope includes a single continuous umbilical length of 30 km weighing about 2,100 tonnes, which calls for specialised large-scale carousel capacity. SLB OneSubsea, the subsea joint venture backed by SLB, Aker Solutions and Subsea7, said it would run the work across its Oscilay and planetary production lines to manufacture in parallel.
