TUI River Cruise has placed an order with Concordia Damen for two river cruise newbuilds to be built at the Dutch yard in Werkendam. The 188-guest ships, designed specifically for the UK market, will each offer 94 cabins and are scheduled for delivery in 2028.

The pair, part of the yard's CDS River Cruise 135 design, will feature what the builder describes as an innovative hull form alongside a range of technical and sustainability features, and will be built methanol-ready so they can switch to the low-carbon fuel in future. The order supports the operator's plan to grow its fleet from six to ten ships, sailing routes across Europe including the Rhine, the Nile and the Douro.
