Ulstein delivers final Windea CSOV for Bernhard Schulte Offshore
Windea Clarke completes a four-ship series and heads for a UK wind charter

Ulstein has handed over the commissioning service operation vessel Windea Clarke to Bernhard Schulte Offshore, completing a four-ship newbuilding programme. The SX222-design vessel was delivered by Ulstein Verft in Norway on 2 July, two days after its christening, and moves straight into its first seasonal charter on a UK North Sea offshore wind project.
The ship is the fourth CSOV delivered to Bernhard Schulte Offshore by Ulstein Verft in the past year and the seventh Ulstein-design offshore wind service vessel in the company's fleet, joining sisters Windea Curie, Windea Clausius and Windea Carnot. Managing director Matthias Muller said the series strengthens the operator's ability to support offshore projects with reliable tonnage while cutting its environmental footprint.
Windea Clarke is built with Ulstein's Twin X-Stern configuration, hybrid battery propulsion and preparation for future methanol fuel. It offers 111 cabins for up to 132 people, a height-adjustable walk-to-work gangway, an integrated elevator tower, a helideck for helicopters up to 8.6 tonnes and a 3D motion-compensated crane lifting up to five tonnes.
The vessel achieved DNV's voluntary SILENT-E class notation during sea trials, underlining a focus on low underwater noise as offshore wind work expands across northern Europe.
