Pacifico Energy Korea signs local supply deal for offshore wind cluster

MoU with three Gwangyang Bay suppliers backs the 3.2GW Jindo project

US-based developer Pacifico Energy Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding with three offshore wind suppliers in the Gwangyang Bay area to support its 3.2GW Jindo offshore wind project cluster.

The agreement brings together Pacifico Energy Korea, which leads overall investment and project management, with EEW KHPC, KMC Line and CS Energy. EEW KHPC will handle offshore wind foundation manufacturing and supply, including pin piles; KMC Line covers marine logistics, transport, installation support and dedicated operations-and-maintenance vessel operations; and CS Energy provides production and technical capacity for foundation components.

The parties said the deal is aimed at strengthening domestic sourcing, supporting regional industry and turning Gwangyang Bay into a wider offshore wind supply hub, while improving South Korea's energy security and lowering renewable power costs. Representative director Seung-Ho Choe said partnering with local manufacturers and logistics firms was essential to delivering large-scale offshore wind projects and reflected the developer's strategy of prioritising the local supply chain.
