Singapore-based offshore vessel operator and shipbuilder Marco Polo Marine has signed a multi-year framework agreement with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy to deploy two commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) in the Asia-Pacific.

The deal, struck through the company's PKR Offshore unit, covers Siemens Gamesa projects in Taiwan on a non-exclusive basis, with both sides also eyeing work in South Korea and Japan. The initial term starts in 2029 and runs two years, but allows an earlier start in 2028 and extensions of one to three years. The vessels are fitted with Siemens Energy's BlueDrive PlusC hybrid propulsion for improved fuel efficiency and emissions.

Marco Polo's existing CSOV, the MP Wind Archer, began its first Taiwan charter in April 2025. A second vessel is under construction at the company's Batam shipyard for delivery in the second quarter of 2028, with a third in planning. Chief executive Sean Lee said securing the framework ahead of delivery was a strong endorsement of its next-generation CSOVs and of PKR Offshore's track record in Taiwan.
