Goldenport orders feeders at revived Qingshan shipyard
Greek owner books three 1,800 teu boxships as the Chinese yard returns to shipbuilding

Greek owner Goldenport Shipmanagement has placed an order for three 1,800 teu feeder containerships at China Merchants Shipbuilding's Qingshan yard, with deliveries scheduled across 2027 and 2028.
The order, controlled by the Dragnis family's ship-management business, adds to a growing book at a yard that had left shipbuilding behind. Qingshan delivered its last export bulk carrier in April 2018, ending a 69-year run, and switched to steel structures and ship repair before announcing a restart in October 2024 and fully resuming construction this year with a focus on smaller, higher-value vessels.
Other recent business at the yard includes ten 1,800 teu boxships for Zhonggu Logistics, four of the same size for a Sinotrans container unit and two multipurpose vessels. The yard was renamed in May and has filed for a 700m-yuan smart-manufacturing upgrade.
Goldenport, which operates around 29 vessels, has also ordered two 63,500 dwt Ultramax bulk carriers at Nantong Xiangyu for delivery in 2029, while a related Dragnis company has gas carriers on order in South Korea.
