Arabian Drilling restarts three offshore rigs after precautionary halt
The Saudi driller expects full offshore fleet utilisation by the end of the year

Arabian Drilling, the largest onshore and offshore drilling company in Saudi Arabia by fleet size, has received notice to resume operations of three offshore rigs that were suspended earlier in the year. The suspensions were introduced as a precautionary measure in response to tensions in the region and were carried out in close coordination with clients and other stakeholders, with safety given priority.
The company expects its remaining suspended offshore rigs to return to work in the second half of the year, restoring full activity across the offshore fleet. On that basis, it projects offshore fleet utilisation reaching 100% by the end of the year, reflecting a full recovery from the temporary disruption and a return to normal operating conditions.
When the suspensions were put in place, they applied only to offshore rigs. The company's onshore fleet of 39 rigs continued to operate at full capacity throughout without interruption.
Management said that as activity resumes, the focus remains on safe and efficient execution and on maintaining consistently high standards of service delivery.
