Advantage Tankers orders suezmax pair at Samsung
Two 157,000 dwt dual-fuel-ready crude tankers at $88.25m each are due in 2029, extending Advantage's fast-growing orderbook.

Geneva-based Advantage Tankers has confirmed two suezmax newbuildings at Samsung Heavy Industries. The 157,000 dwt dual-fuel-ready crude tankers Advantage Spirit and Advantage Synergy are listed on the owner's newbuilding page at $88.25m each, for delivery in the first and second quarters of 2029; brokers expect construction to be subcontracted to Samsung's partner yard PaxOcean Zhoushan in China.
The order extends a fast-growing large-tanker book at the Tugrul Tokgoz-led, Nazli Williams-controlled owner. Advantage already has the 319,000 dwt Advantage Visual at Jiangsu Hantong for Q4 2026, two 320,000 dwt VLCCs at Hanwha Ocean for 2027, two 307,000 dwt VLCCs at Dalian for 2028-29, and four 157,000 dwt suezmaxes at DH Shipbuilding for 2027-29.
Founded in 2014, the private company runs close to 30 tankers spanning VLCCs, suezmaxes, aframax/LR2 and product tonnage; the Samsung pair takes its publicly listed newbuilding programme to 13 ships.
