TechnipFMC lands Eni subsea deal off Ivory Coast

Flexible flowlines and risers for the Baleine Phase 3 fast-track development

Offshore contractor TechnipFMC has won a contract from Italian major Eni for Baleine Phase 3, a fast-track development off the Ivory Coast and the country's largest hydrocarbon discovery. TechnipFMC will design and manufacture flexible flowlines and risers linking wells at around 1,200 m water depth to a new floating production unit.

The company classed the award as "significant", a category it defines as worth between $75m and $250m, and booked it in second-quarter 2026 inbound orders. It follows the award of the FPSO's engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract to China's Wison New Energies.

That FPSO will work in around 800 to 1,200 m of water and is designed to process up to 90,000 barrels of oil, 80,000 barrels of produced water and 160m cubic feet of natural gas per day, with a design life of at least 20 years.

The deal adds to a busy run of subsea awards for TechnipFMC and underlines the pace of West African offshore development as operators push fast-track schemes to bring new barrels on stream.
