Simon Møkster secures new PSV frame deal with Aker BP

Norwegian shipowner Simon Møkster Shipping has signed a new frame agreement with oil and gas player Aker BP for continued platform supply vessel (PSV) services. Under the agreement, Aker BP will charter vessels from the Simon Møkster fleet to meet its requirements.

The frame agreement runs for four years, with two additional two-year options. Alongside regular vessel supply, it includes provisions for improved vessel operations and lower emissions.

The owner currently operates nine PSVs: the Stril Mar, Stril Barents, Stril Luna, Stril Polar, Stril Orion, Stril Mermaid, Stril Odin, Strilmøy and Stril Pioner.

It is Aker BP's second frame agreement with shipowners this week. Splash has already reported on a deal with Eidesvik Offshore, alongside which Aker BP awarded long-term work to Eidesvik's Viking Prince. The new Simon Møkster agreement carries the same length and extension options, extending a partnership first established under a PSV frame agreement in 2019.
