Noble lands $136m drillship contract offshore Brunei

The Noble Viking is booked for six firm wells starting in early 2028

Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has secured a contract to deploy its 2014-built drillship Noble Viking in support of drilling operations in Brunei for an undisclosed customer. The award covers a firm scope of six wells, with an estimated value of about $136.2m before managed pressure drilling and additional services.

The programme is scheduled to begin in early 2028 and to run for roughly 296 days, keeping the rig contracted into the fourth quarter of that year. The contract also carries options for a further three wells.

The Noble Viking is currently engaged on a drilling campaign in Papua New Guinea, which is due to conclude in August. It will then move directly to a campaign in Malaysia, expected to be completed by October, before taking up the Brunei work.
