Leadership reshuffle at MedcoEnergi as company names new chief executive
Ronald Gunawan steps up to CEO after 37 years in oil and gas, as MedcoEnergi overhauls its senior leadership
Indonesian oil and gas firm MedcoEnergi has appointed Ronald Gunawan as its new chief executive officer.
The move follows a broader leadership reshuffle confirmed at the company's annual general meeting of shareholders. Gunawan takes over from Roberto Lorato, who steps into an advisory position on the board of commissioners.
Gunawan brings 37 years of experience in the oil and gas sector to the role. He has served as MedcoEnergi's chief operating officer since November 2015.
The company announced several other senior changes alongside the CEO appointment. Benny Setiawan becomes the new chief financial officer, succeeding Anthony Mathias. Amri Siahaan joins as chief operating officer, while Sanjeev Bansal takes a board seat as chief growth officer.
"We extend our sincere gratitude to Roberto and Anthony for their leadership and contributions to MedcoEnergi," the company said in a statement posted to social media.
