The Baltic Exchange's main dry bulk freight index fell for a sixth straight session on Monday, down about 1.4% to 2,490 points, its lowest since 15 April. The capesize index, which typically carries 150,000-tonne cargoes of iron ore and coal, slumped 2.8% to 3,538 points, while the supramax index eased 0.1% to a fresh low since 15 June at 1,668 points.

The panamax index bucked the trend, rising 0.7% to 2,124 points. Panamaxes typically carry around 60,000-70,000 tonnes of coal or grain.
